A Perfect Family Day at Crab Island
Everything you need to know about Destin's most famous submerged sandbar, Crab Island.
No trip to Destin is complete without a visit to Crab Island. It is actually a submerged sandbar where the water is only waist-deep, making it an incredible playground for families.
How to get there: You can only reach Crab Island by boat. We highly recommend renting a pontoon boat for a half-day from the Destin Harbor.
What to expect:
• Floating restaurants and mobile food boats
• Inflatable water parks and obstacle courses
• Crystal clear, emerald water perfect for snorkeling and relaxing
Pro Tip: Pack plenty of sunscreen, rent your boat early during peak season, and try to go during an incoming high tide for the clearest water!
